I was asked to make a pair of fingerless ribbed gauntlets for a customer’s elderly mother. Apparently her hands are even smaller than mine, so I designed them to fit snugly on me, that they would cozy up just right on hers.
I knit them up in 2×2 ribbing, in Paton’s Classic roving on US#10.5 DPN’s, inserting new ribbing into the thumb gusset as the space between the markers increased.
I liked how the ribbing worked out in the gussets, and how well the gauntlets fit.
This is the first time I have knit gauntlets without a pattern – something I’ll certainly do again!
