nålbinding round start tutorial – method 1

This nålbinding round-start tutorial illustrates one method for casting stitches onto a loop. Want to nålbind top-down hats, and toe-up socks? Make a flat medallion for pot-holders, or work mittens from the fingertips? This is a great way to start them!

artful acorn | nålbinding round start method 1 | tutorial step 11. Cross the tail-end of the yarn over the working section. Pinch a portion of the tail near the loop, and bring it up through the loop from back to front.

 

artful acorn | nålbinding round start | method 1 | step 22. Pinch the loop, and pull the working-end of the yarn to tighten the slip knot, creating a base loop for casting on stitches.
