The 24th annual Highlands Winter Craft Fair marked the 2nd anniversary of the launch of The Artful Acorn!
I’ve learned so much in the last year, mostly about the fascinating technique of making wooly things by nålbinding (needle binding); the ancient method of making textiles from lengths of wool yarn that are sewed with a one-holed bone or wooden needle, in a series of what might be described as fancy variations on the buttonhole stitch.
It’s so gratifying when previous customers return to buy more wooly bowls!
Snowflakes and ornaments are both special to me, and I spent many hours creating these sparkly layered paper ones.
Heartfelt thanks go out to everyone who supports, encourages, and inspires me at the fair and all the rest of the year.
May the joy of the season fill all your hearts!
